South Shields Women are looking to put the disappointment of last week’s Adobe Women’s FA Cup exit behind them as they visit Ossett United Women this Sunday (2pm kick-off).
It is the First Team’s first outing in the NERWFL Premier Division for over a month - their last league game came in a 4-0 win against Wallsend BC Women on Sunday, September 28th.
Annece Legg scored all four goals that afternoon with a stand-out second-half performance.
Ossett United head into the game having made a good start to life in the fifth tier, having most recently defeated bottom side Sunderland West End Ladies 3-2 just under a fortnight ago.
Sophie’s thoughts
Co-Head Coach Sophie Clough (as well as Reserve Team Head Coach Ryan Young) spoke to us in the run-up to this weekend’s fixtures.

Anna’s thoughts
Goalkeeper Anna Yeakey previewed Sunday’s game, where she is hoping the team can prove a point after last week’s showing.
She said: “The team is flipping a new page and putting this past weekend behind us.
“I think the girls are ready for this weekend.
“Looking at our squad, one bad result doesn’t define us and I think we’re ready to show that.”
