South Shields Women make the trip up north to face Alnwick Town Ladies for the second time this season on Sunday (2pm kick-off).
The Mariners pulled off an unlikely comeback in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Second Round Qualifying back in September and they will be hoping to rediscover that feeling at the weekend.
It is the first league meeting between the two sides this campaign, and Shields will be looking to pick up three points if they are to threaten the teams above them in the NERWFL Premier Division table.
The lasses find themselves in sixth place with 20 points to their name, while Alnwick Town are fourth with 27 points, albeit having played one extra game.
Ex-Mariner Sophie Greener has shone brightly for the hosts, having scored 20 goals in 19 games in her debut season with the team, which included a brace in September’s clash.
