New date for Durham Challenge Cup tie

The Durham Challenge Cup second round tie between Whickham and South Shields will take place on Tuesday, November 22nd.

The match at the First Mortgage Glebe will kick-off at 7.30pm, with the Mariners’ Pitching In Northern Premier League fixture at home to Bamber Bridge to go ahead as planned on the same night at 7.45pm.

A young Shields team is set to make the short journey to Whickham.

The tie was originally due to be held on Tuesday, November 15th, but was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Meanwhile, the first-team’s league trip to Matlock Town is also set to be rearranged.

It was due to be held on Tuesday, December 6th, but will now be given a new date due to Matlock’s County Cup commitments.
