South Shields Women’s summer recruitment has continued with the arrival of prolific forward Eve Jones.
Jones, who played for Sunderland West End Ladies last season, was named as their top goalscorer after scoring 12 goals in 19 games - which included goals in each of our four meetings in all competitions.
She has also shown a keen eye for goal in the National Football Youth League, having netted 21 times in 24 games for Sunderland AFC’s FoL Scholars’ side last term, the second highest out of any player in the division.
In addition, she brings fourth tier experience with Chester-le-Street Town Ladies, at the start of the 2025/26 season, off the back of a title-winning NERWFL Premier Division campaign the year prior.
Following another stand-out season, Jones is keen to continue her footballing journey with the Mariners.
She spoke of her excitement after joining the club: "I'm really excited to get the season started with the team.
"Looking forward to new challenges and helping the team in a competitive league."
First Team Head Coach Alex Miller added: “We are delighted to announce the signing of Eve Jones.
“A lightning-fast forward with Tier 4 experience, Eve is a tidy and clinical finisher who is versatile across the front line, and we are very excited to see her bring her pace and quality to the squad this season.”
Welcome to Shields, Eve!
