SSFC Women snatch last-gasp equaliser against Ponteland United
South Shields Women snatched a last-second equaliser amidst a chaotic final minutes against Ponteland United Women on Sunday. The opener of what was a dramatic four-goal clash between the Mariners and Ponteland came in the 62nd minute through the host's Chloe Adam. It took the Mariners 22 minutes to hit back, as Julie Raffel stabbed home the equaliser in the 84th minute. South Shields Women look to shake off last week’s postponement as they make the short visit to Ponteland United Women this Sunday (2pm kick-off). The lasses were out of action as heavy rainfall resulted in a waterlogged pitch at Harton Welfare, but attention turns to Ponteland United, who the Mariners are yet to face this season. Super substitutes Faye Killeen and Eva McDonald stole the show for South Shields Women in a five-star performance against Brunsmeer Athletic Women on Sunday.
