South Shields Women aim to book their spot in the NERWFL League Cup Final when they take on Birtley Town Ladies on Thursday night (7:30pm kick-off).
The lasses will play at Ford Hub hopeful of getting the result they need, but standing in their way are a resolute Birtley Town side who are undefeated in the NERWFL Northern Division.
In fact, tomorrow’s visitors are currently on a 15-game winning streak in all competitions - including a victory against Alnwick Town Ladies in the last round of this tournament - so it will be a big challenge.
Nevertheless, the Mariners, who overcame Sunderland West End Ladies in the Quarter-Final almost three weeks ago, are looking towards the game with optimism.
The winner of Thursday’s tie will face either Leeds Modernians Women, or Bradford City AFC Women, in the Final, who will battle it out next week.
Last time out
Take a look at the match highlights from the team’s most recent game, which was a 5-1 thrashing at home to Ossett United Women in the NERWFL Premier Division.
