SSFC Women confirms list of retained players ahead of 2026/27 season

As preparations step up ahead of the 2026/27 season, South Shields FC Women can now confirm its list of retained players.

The Mariners performed across multiple fronts to reach the NERWFL League Cup Final, the DCFA Women's Challenge Cup Semi-Final, as well as the Adobe Women's FA Cup First Round Proper during the 2025/26 campaign.

We would like to wish all departing players the very best of luck in all future endeavours, both on and off the pitch.

In terms of new arrivals, six had already been confirmed - Milly Cairns, Brooke Ford, Eve Jones, Neve Platt, India Reynolds and Sophie Sutton - while we are pleased to share that forward Alex Cleverly will be joining us too.

First Team Head Coach, Alex Miller, said: "Throughout a challenging season, these players have represented South Shields FC Women with commitment, resilience, and professionalism.

"Their contribution to the club has extended far beyond matchdays, and each has played a part in our journey this season.

"We would like to thank every player that is moving on for their dedication, hard work, and the memories they've helped create.
