South Shields Football Club are delighted to have The Potting Shed on board for the 2024-25 season as a sponsor and as catering at the 1st Cloud Arena.
The Potting Shed are a café that operates within the Green Fingers Garden Centre near Western Approach.
Family run by Kenny Coates and his father, they have become one of the biggest independently-ran retailers in South Shields.
Coates knew how big the partnership would be and was quick to get stuck in.
"I've known Carl a lot of years and when he first came to me with the proposal of a partnership I was hesitant because I thought it would be too much undertaking for our business at the time, but it is such a core part of Shields and so are we so it was a no-brainer.
"The fans and players have been satisfied with our product in pre-season, that is what the partnership is all about."
Club Commercial Director Carl Mowatt was pleased to reunite with Coates and bring a great partnership to the Club.
"We are all so excited about the new season ahead, and so thrilled to have Kenny and his team in a new partner/sponsorship - not only are The Potting Shed sponsoring both the Fan Zone and new stand bar/hatch, The Potting Shed of the Green Fingers Garden Centre are sponsoring the season ticket cards this season and are offering all ticket holders a 10% discount.
"Having worked alongside Kenny in hospitality in a previous establishment, I had no hesitation or concerns on the standard or quality of produce and to follow up on his success of the Garden Centre and running probably one of the busiest places in Shields speaks for itself.
"The Potting Shed will be operating the hospitality areas on a match-to-match basis along with offering our function rooms a catering option to fit all tastes.
