Niall McAndrew joins on loan

We are delighted to announce the signing of attacking midfielder, Niall McAndrew on loan from Derby County until the end of the season!

The Ireland international becomes the second loanee from the Rams to link up with Ian Watson’s side, joining teammate Lennon Wheeldon.

Niall joined Derby County Under-18s as a first-year scholar in the summer of 2023, before penning professional terms in 2024. McAndrew has been with the Rams since Under-9s level and holds a dual nationality, meaning he is eligible for England and the Republic of Ireland.

The teenager had a standout 2023/24 season with the young Rams, featuring 25 times in all competitions with seven of those appearances being for the Under-21s. He scored 11 goals and provided six assists. He signed his first professional contract ahead of the 2024/25 season and gained match time for the Under-18s and Under-21s across various competitions, although he missed most of the second half of the campaign owing to injury.

He has represented Ireland at youth level and was a regular for their Under-17s across the 2023/24 campaign.

Niall will wear the number 27 for the Mariners
