MATCH PREVIEW: WORKSOP TOWN: (H)

Ian Watson’s Mariners welcome Craig Parry’s Worksop Town to the 1st Cloud Arena for a midweek clash in the Enterprise National League North.

The hosts who now sit in second place will be looking to regain their winning form from earlier in the season and hope that this can start with a 12th home win in the league against the Tigers

On the other hand, Parry’s Worksop sit at 16th position in the league, and just seven points clear of the relegation places. The Tigers, too, are 13 points away from the play-off positions, so the turnaround - if Worksop hope to achieve the play-offs - must start at the 1st Cloud Arena.

The side's most recent encounter was in late November last year when the Mariners picked up a comfortable 3-0 victory, with Will Jenkins bagging a second-half brace. No doubt the supporting home fans will be hoping for a similar performance on Tuesday night.

Watson’s Mariners should look to stop Worksop’s Oliver Greaves - who no doubt will be their danger man on Tuesday night. Greaves has picked up three goals in his first four appearances for the club since his permanent signing from Buxton FC.

Similarly the hosts can look to one of their new signings who may be the one to lead them to a midweek victory In the Mariners last outing Sonny Finch scored the opener, for what was his fourth in the league this season. So too, in the chaotic 2-2 draw against AFC Telford United, substitute Paul Blackett got himself on the scoresheet claiming his 16th of the season.
