MATCH PREVIEW: KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS (A)

On Saturday, Ian Watson’s Mariners take the lengthy trip to Aggborough for the final game of their Enterprise National League North campaign, a game too, which could be historic for his side.

South Shields go into the 12:30pm clash looking to pick up their 29th league win of the season and bolster their points tally to a staggering 98 for the season.

Comparatively, the Harriers sit in third place in the league, having already secured a place in the play-offs, however still, the hosts will be looking for bragging rights and another victory against the men from South Tyneside.

The reverse fixture took place in early December last year, which unfortunately saw South Shields fall to a 2-1 home defeat. Watson’s side then will be hoping to avenge this loss, and hopefully for travelling Mariners fans, avenging this loss could in turn, see his side claim the title.

One-to-watch

Despite the Mariners' recent away success, if they are to pick up points on the road, a key part in doing so, will be shutting out Kidderminster’s star man Kieren Donnelly.

Donnelly has been extremely impressive since his loan move to the Harriers, picking up six goals since his arrival in March, so too, the centre-forward has netted four times in his previous four outings.

Conversely, if the visitors are to pull off what could be a historic win on the Harriers home soil, their key to victory has to be through - potential player of the season, current top goalscorer in the league - the Mariners' magnificent marksman, Paul Blackett.

The prolific front-man has been nothing short of an absolute superstar up-top for Shields this campaign. Blackett as it stands, leads the race for the golden boot, by just one goal, ahead of AFC Fylde’s Danny Ormerod.

Blackett then, along with his manager and teammates will be hoping to take that tally to a whopping 30 for the season, and hope too, that his goals could lead to a monumental victory.
