The Rocket Group launches three-year corporate box deal

The Rocket Group has joined a growing number of businesses to commit to a long-term partnership with South Shields FC by securing a corporate hospitality box for the next three years.

The multidisciplinary organisation was among the first to purchase a box at 1st Cloud Arena when the new main stand opened ahead of the 2021-22 season.

They have been so impressed with their experience that they have now signed up for the long-term, taking advantage of a price freeze initiative launched by the club.

Managing director Craig Huddart attends matches with family and friends, including his son Finn, who recently underwent a heart transplant at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital.

Craig also uses the box to entertain clients of The Rocket Group, which employs more than 40 staff in offices in Darlington, Barnard Castle, Hexham and Edinburgh.

The Rocket Group are also members of the HLA Mariners Business Club, which brings together like-minded companies to produce collaborative thinking and promote strong networking.

Craig said: “As well as being able to watch the games with family and friends, having a presence at the ground has been a positive boost for our business, with brand awareness growing significantly.

“Being able to bring clients to the games and show them what the club is all about, while entertaining in a relaxed environment, is such a great thing for both the Group and the club as businesses.

“We are also members of the business club, and although in its infancy, it is such an amazing idea and will grow massively.

“Rocket Group has already made business connections with a good number of local businesses, across multiple sectors, with several success stories and business being passed between ourselves and other members.

“The business club can only grow and will become an intrinsic part of local business growth, firmly cementing its place as a hub for regional commerce.”

The Rocket Group works on projects as diverse as land acquisition and remediation, large scale developments on behalf of major housebuilders and large scale infrastructure such as road and rail.

It is also heavily involved with multi-billion pound renewables schemes including offshore and onshore wind, solar and battery storage, as well as small scale single house developments and extensions.

The Rocket Foundation is a charitable arm of the Rocket Group, with profits from the group going back into the Foundation to help deserving causes across the region.

Craig added: “The club has been behind this venture from the outset, with Carl Mowatt (operations director) helping to pave the way for the club's support and involvement.

“The Rocket Foundation will be holding a series of events to raise funds and awareness for the Foundation and the club has generously agreed to host a fundraising night in a few months’ time.

“The club's involvement will be pivotal in the growth of the Foundation, once again proving that community is at the heart of South Shields FC.”

Corporate hospitality box holders at South Shields FC receive exclusive use of a box at all home matches, with space for up to 10 guests.

Users of the box receive pre-match food, seats with prime views in the main stand, automatic entry to the HLA Mariners Business Club – which includes six meetings a year – and additional benefits from the club.

South Shields FC operations director Carl Mowatt said: “We are delighted to have The Rocket Group on board for the long-term at South Shields FC.

“Craig is such a valued club partner and a key member of our business club, with a keen interest in everything we are trying to do.

“I respect Craig greatly for all of the incredible charity work he carries out and his motivation to put something back into the community.

“This is a relationship which has a real personal touch, and we are excited to see how it develops in the months and years ahead.

“The initiative to offer three-year deals to our sponsors and corporate hospitality box holders is still in its infancy, but the response has been tremendous and is helping the club on its journey towards an exciting and sustainable future.”
