South Shields Women host newly-promoted side Brunsmeer Athletic Women at Ford Hub on Sunday (2pm kick-off).
The lasses have had to wait longer than expected to get their first match of 2026 played, after games against Alnwick Town Ladies and Bradford City AFC Women were postponed in recent weeks, but they are hoping to make it third time lucky this weekend.
Brunsmeer Athletic were promoted from the NERWFL Southern Division as champions last season, meaning this will be the first meeting between the two sides.
The visitors are ranked ninth as things stand having picked up nine points so far - just one point, and two places, behind the Mariners in the standings.

Kristina Simpson said: “I think we’re all just really excited to be back out there after such a long break.
“It feels like the team is more than ready to get back on the pitch, get our boots dirty again, and finally put all the hard work into action this weekend.”

After browsing a forum where UK players were talking about different sites, I noticed gecko play casino mentioned briefly and decided to take a look. The experience was simple and easygoing, without making a strong impression either way.
Hi folks. A friend mentioned this place during a casual pub chat, right after complaining about a bad run elsewhere. That got my attention more than praise ever does. From the UK, I tried it on a quiet Sunday afternoon and stayed longer than planned on hellofortune.org.uk. I appreciated being able to play without constant distractions. I went through a losing streak that tested my patience, but sticking to limits paid off. One solid win covered the losses and left me satisfied enough to stop on my own terms.
