South Shields Women host Sunderland West End Ladies in the DCFA Women’s Challenge Cup Quarter-Final on Sunday (1:30pm kick-off).
After seeing off Wallsend BC Women in last week’s NERWFL League Cup tie, the Mariners will be hoping to make a double success in the cups with a positive result at the weekend.
The two teams will meet for the second time this season, having previously played a league game in September at Harton Welfare - Sunderland West End came out 2-1 winners that day.
Jen Wootten scored Shields’ goal after the visitors had netted twice in quick succession early on.
Sunday’s visitors edged a nervy 1-1 tie in the NERWFL League Cup against Stockton Town Ladies on penalties last time out.
