South Shields Women have little time to rest as they host Thornaby FC Women at Downhill Hub on Sunday (2:30pm kick-off).
The lasses played against Sunderland West End Ladies on Thursday night in the NERWFL League Cup Quarter-Final, and now they return to NERWFL Premier Division action this weekend against the league’s second-placed side.
Thornaby have only dropped points in two games this season as they continue to charge down Bradford City AFC Women for the league title.
When the two teams last met in February, Thornaby were 3-0 winners - former Mariner Eve Gatens grabbed the first goal, while Jen Knowles and Sophie Tierney provided the other strikes.
