SSFC Women Co-Head Coaches deliver Moors verdict

ree

South Shields Women Co-Head Coaches Alex Miller and Sophie Clough have spoken following the Mariners' opening day defeat to Spennymoor Town Ladies.

Read below for their assessment on the game.

"A tough start to the season with a 7–1 defeat away to Spennymoor.

"Conceding so early in the game set us back, and credit to the hosts – they showed more desire throughout and punished us when chances came their way.

"That said, there were some positives to take.

"We had good spells, particularly at the start of the second-half, where we showed the quality we know we’re capable of.

"The challenge now is to find that consistency across the full 90 minutes.

"It’s not the start we wanted, but lessons have been learned.

"We’ll regroup, keep working hard, and make sure we use this as fuel to grow stronger as a team."

The lasses are next in action at home against Sunderland West End Ladies on Sunday, September 14th (2pm kick-off).
