SSFC attend North Marine Park Run

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone that joined us on Sunday 10th February 2025 for the second anniversary of the North Marine Junior Park Run.

During a rainy day, the 100th event took place on what was the 2nd anniversary of the park run. which is heavily backed by Club Chairman, Geoff Thompson and Tracey Dixon, Leader of South Tyneside Council.

Commercial Director, Carl Mowatt and SSFC Players, Dan Ward, Mackenzie Heaney, Vice Captain Martin Smith, and Sandy were invited to support the participants.

Carl Mowatt had this to say:

"It was an honour to be invited to represent the club with Sandy (Vicki Wallace) along with Martin, Mackenzie and Dan, to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of the event that was set up and started by Sally Foreman Baggaley, with great help and support from our club chairman Geoff Thompson and the backing of South Tyneside Council thanks to Tracey Dixon.

A great introduction to all kids to get involved in running and at regular times."

Vice-Captain, Martin Smith said:

"The North Marine junior park run is a fantastic event for our young kids in the area.

It’s really important for us as a club to support our community especially with events like this that give a platform every week for children aged 4-14 to come out every Sunday morning, have fun and enjoy themselves by being active.

I feel strongly towards events like this because of what it gives children and long may it continue.

A massive well done has to go to all the volunteers and people that make this happen every week.

Brilliant work and thank you for having us down to help and support. We at South Shields FC will continue to do so."
