South Shields FC strengthens partnership with Westoe Travel

South Shields Football Club is delighted to confirm a strengthened partnership with Westoe Travel.

The club’s relationship with the family-run travel agency stretches back to 2013, and now continues into our exciting first season in Vanarama National League North.

Based on Westoe Road, South Shields, Westoe Travel is recognised as one of the country’s top companies in its field, and was voted Best Travel Agent in North East England at the prestigious TTG Top 50 Travel Awards in 2022.

Westoe Travel owner Graeme Brett said: “We are delighted to be extending our support for South Shields FC in the new era in the Vanarama National League.

“We first sponsored the club in the Peterlee days and it is fantastic to see how the team and stadium have progressed, including the memorable 2016-17 season when we sponsored the travel for the team on the FA Vase-winning Wembley weekend.

Westoe Travel was established by Graeme and Joan Brett in 1989, and daughter Gillian now manages the team of eight.

Graeme specialises in running the company’s own tour operator, Rail Adventures, which offers rail, hotel and attraction breaks throughout the UK, as well as packages for major sporting events.

Joan looks after tours to Canada and North America, while Gillian and assistant manager Alice Appleby and their team look after bookings throughout the world.

As an independent travel agent, Westoe Travel are able to book all tour operators and cruise companies with special offers, and with companies like Jet2holidays, Westoe Travel will be cheaper than the direct price. They are also able to add a personal service, including printing the customer’s boarding passes and arranging the online check-in.

Westoe Travel have been appointed as Premier Aussie Specialists, New Zealand Gold Agents and Elite Canada Specialists by the tourist boards of those countries.

Staff at Westoe Travel travel throughout the world to broaden their knowledge and find exciting new destinations for customers, and have visited parts of Canada 72 times, Australia 32 times and Florida 103 times between them.
