Shields Sign Jid Okeke on loan

South Shields FC are delighted to announce the loan signing of Jid Okeke from Stockport County.

The 19-year-old defender arrives at the 1st Cloud Arena from the SkyBet League Two champions on a half season-long loan until January 2025 with a view to extend.

Jid has appeared in the National League North previously with loan spells at Chester and Hereford.

We spoke to Jid upon his arrival to South Shields:

"It feels good to be here and I'm ready to show people what I am capable of"

When asked about fellow Stockport player and new Mariner Ashton Mee:

"It's good, we have played together, I know him really well and we've got a good connection on the pitch"

"When I spoke to the gaffer he told me how well I would suit the team"

"The lads have been really nice aswell and I am just excited for what is to come"
