Ian Watson has named Robbie Tinkler as Club Captain.
The 28-year-old defender linked up with the Mariners, having spent the previous four years with Gateshead, where he saw great success, getting promoted to the National League upon winning the National League North on 94 points, only losing six games that season in the league.
Tinkler also saw The Heed make the trip to Wembley under Rob Elliot, where they won the FA Trophy, beating Solihull Moors in a nail-biting 2-2 draw, to go on and win 5-4 on penalties.
Tinkler said:
"This week, it was a great honor to be named captain of this amazing & forward-thinking football club.
We have made a great start to the season, but everyone knows nothing has been done except that. We are trying our best daily to improve and make sure we deliver great performances, which in turn will reward us with results.
Another mention to Robert Briggs, who was excellent when welcoming me into the club, and is something I will try my best to continue with, as it helped me to settle in, which I’m sure the new players arriving will hopefully appreciate as much as I did."
Congratulations, Tinks!

Robbie Tinkler being named club captain is a great move for the team. His leadership, experience, and dedication on and off the field make him a strong choice to guide the squad this season. Much like tackling a challenge such as ebike the Going-to-the-Sun Road, strong focus and determination are key qualities a captain must bring to the team.
