Shields are looking to gain ground after a comfortable 3-0 win as they travel down to Scarborough.
Since his interim appointment, Elliott Dickman’s side have been in fine form with three wins in their last five fixtures. What was thought of as a tough fixture happened to be one of the performances of the season last time out as Shields brushed aside a lacklustre Hereford side.
However, all eyes are now fixed onto Saturday's opposition as the Mariners head south again to Scarborough Athletic.
Previously it was Julio Arca’s side that got the best of Scarborough, Elliot Dickman will in no doubt be looking to do the same.
The last fixture between these two sides was all the way back in August in which the Mariners came out 1-0 winners thanks to a goal from Tom Broadbent in the 68th minute.
Supporters will be anticipating another goal from Paul Blackett who after his last fixture finds himself on 19 goals for the season.
Dickman was full of praise for his side after Tuesday’s win and stated, “Winning any game is a nice feeling but to do it in that fashion is all that much better.”
Later adding “There was zero complacency on our behalf and that is exactly what I’ve been getting across to the players in my time as manager”.
When asked if he felt as though he had played a part in the side’s recent success, he had this to say, “It hasn’t been down to me at all, what you see isn’t the whole picture.”.
Going on to say, “We have a lot of experience in the squad and all of them have worked really hard the past month to turn things around”.
Lufudu is doubtful for the next fixture as he was taken off in the first half on Tuesday night.
CJ Clarke is also in doubt after coming off in the first half on Tuesday night.
