MATCH PREVIEW: Buxton FC (A)

Ian Watson’s Mariners travel to the Tarmac Silverlands Stadium to take on John McGrath’s Buxton FC in what will be a massive clash for South Shields away from home.
Saturday’s fixture will see Watson’s men look to pick up their ninth away win in the league this season, the Mariners, too, will be coming into the fixture fresh off the back of a crucial 2-1 away win at Darlington on Tuesday night and will be hoping to take this confidence to Buxton.
The hosts sit in 12th place in the Enterprise National League North; a win on Saturday could push McGrath’s men into the play-offs.
Buxton’s top goalscorer Luke Brennon will be one to watch on Saturday — Brennon scored in his last outing against Worksop Town in a 3-1 home victory, putting his tally to nine goals this season, a goal on Saturday then would help the Bucks clinch play-offs and see Brennon reach double figures.
The Mariners butted heads with Buxton early on in the season in what was, for Shields, a miraculous comeback. Tai Sodje’s brace inside 26 minutes was levelled out by Paul Blackett’s penalty and a late Caden Kelly equaliser.
Watson’s Mariners are currently league leaders on 55 points from 24 games. A further three points gained away from home would be crucial for South Shields' promotion hopes.
Superstar striker Blackett continued his relentless goalscoring form this season, picking up his 13th goal in the league this season from deep on Tuesday night. No doubt, Blackett is the Mariners’ danger man and will be looking to aid Shields to yet another victory.
