Jordan Hunter returns on loan

South Shields announce the signing of Jordan Hunter on loan from Gateshead until the end of the season.

The defender returns to the club for the remainder of the Mariners’ National League North campaign.

Hunter has had two previous spells as a Mariner, first in 2019 and then again in 2021 until he departed for Gateshead in the summer of 2023.

The 24-year-old was a part of the Northern Premier League winning side last season.

Hunter has made 26 appearances so far this season and reunites with his former Sunderland Academy coach Eliott Dickman.

He hopes to help Shields push on for the rest of the Vanarama National League North season, with the Mariners currently four points outside of the play-off places.

Hunter is eligible for Saturday’s trip to Gloucester City.

Stands out as a very good attacking full back up and beyond this class of football.
