Five reasons why YOU should support SSFC Women this Sunday

SSFC Women are set to return to 1st Cloud Arena on Sunday as they take on Hull United in the North East Regional Women’s Football League Premier Division.

The match kicks off at 2pm and we are appealing for your support as the team look to continue their hugely impressive start to the campaign.

Read on for five reasons why you should get yourself along.

100% START

What a start to the season the lasses have enjoyed!

Five games in all competitions, five wins, and no shortage of style.

We’re immensely proud of the way Ben Garrity’s side have started the campaign and we want you to see for yourself just what an exciting team has been developed.

It is sure to be a tough game against Hull United, but your support could make all the difference.

GOAL-DEN GIRLS

Across those five wins, the women have scored 19 goals – a brilliant achievement!

They’re entertainment personified and anyone who was at 1st Cloud Arena for the win over Blyth Town last month will have marvelled at some of the play.

Jen Wootten, Eve Gatens and Jade Dryden have all scored hat-tricks already this season – will someone else join them on Sunday?

Come along to find out!

INTERNATIONAL PERFORMER

Did you know that the Mariners have an international star in their ranks?

Zahra Muzdalifah has shone in recent games, and scored twice in last week’s win over West Allotment Celtic in the Vitality Women’s FA Cup.

It’s not often you can say an international player is strutting their stuff at 1st Cloud Arena – so make sure you witness this while you have the chance!

Zahra has played 22 times for the Indonesian women’s side and is a huge favourite in her homeland, with almost 1million followers on Instagram.

WOMEN’S FOOTBALL IS THRIVING

The country was captivated by the success of the Lionesses this summer.

England Women won the European Championship in stunning fashion and earned a new legion of fans.

Now it’s time for that support to translate into domestic football, and it’s beginning to do so, with record attendances being recorded in the Women’s Super League.

We’re determined to follow suit at SSFC and support the women’s team as much as possible. A big 1st Cloud Arena crowd would make such a difference.

A TRULY SUPER SUNDAY

If all of the above wasn’t enough to tempt you, there’s even an opportunity for you to watch the game for free!

Our Sunday lunch service is proving more and more popular by the week, with the Lakeside Inn’s trademark carvery being savoured between 12pm and 4pm in the new bar.

This week, if you purchase a Sunday lunch you will receive FREE entry to the women’s game and access to the new main stand – what’s not to like?!

So get yourself to the ground, enter through the main entrance in the new stand and see what all the fuss is about – on the plate and the pitch!

However, please note that as of 8am on Sunday, due to unprecedented demand, we are fully booked until 2pm. We are still accepting reservations for between 2pm and 4pm – perhaps you could grab a lunch at 2pm and catch the second half to avoid missing out.

If Sunday lunch isn’t your thing, it’s just £3 to enter through turnstile 1, which opens at 1pm, and we’ll also be running a 50/50 draw.

So come on, no excuses! Let’s give the women the support they deserve.
