Dillon Morse Stays Another Year

Dillon Morse has signed a one-year contract extension with South Shields

The deal keeps the long-serving defender at the 1st Cloud Arena until 2025.

Morse has been at the Club since 2016, following Lee Picton to Shields from Blyth Spartans.

The Sunderland-born defender was a vital member of the treble-winning side in 2016-17, scoring in the FA Vase Final against Cleethorpes.

He said; "It's great to sign another year with the Football Club, it's eight years I've been here now, so delighted to be signed here for another season.

"I've been here a long time, I know the Club inside out, so to commit another year is fantastic.

"I feel comfortable here, I love playing here and I enjoy my football, so yeah, it's fantastic!"

Morse made 21 appearances in the Vanarama National League North season last campaign but missed the run-in due to an injury picked up away to Banbury United.

Head Coach Elliott Dickman was pleased to retain Morse.

"We are all thrilled and delighted that Dillon has agreed a new one-year contract extension with the Club.

"Dillon has proved that he is a major part of our team and as a staff, we have loved working with him both on and off the pitch.

"He is a very popular character within our dressing room and we are all very excited to continue to work with him again this season."
