We are delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Dodds upon the expiry of his contract at Hartlepool United.
Dodds joins the Mariners having spent three years at The Pools, featuring in just over 50 games.
Dodds, a defender by trade, rose through the ranks at Middlesborough and has featured from Under 18’s to Under 21’s where he would make an EFL appearance. The 24 year old would then go on to get his first real taste of senior football with a loan move to Darlington where he would compete in the National League North.
Following the 22/23 season, Dodds would join League 2 side Hartlepool United in January 2023, making 19 appearances in League 2 and a further 2 seasons in the National League.
Ian Watson has spoke about his second incoming at South Shields FC,
“Dan is a player I’ve loved since watching him on his loan spell at Darlington.
He will be incredible for us and we can’t wait to start working with him.
Both Dan and Robbie are real signings of intent by the football club.”
The signing of Dan Dodds will be made official on July 1st, 2025.
