A Game to Remember – Charity Match in Memory of Dale at 1st Cloud Arena

On Sunday 27th April, South Shields FC is proud to host a very special charity football match in memory of a much-loved local figure, Dale, who sadly passed away last year. The event will take place at 1st Cloud Arena and aims to bring the community together in celebration of Dale’s life while raising vital funds for Cancer Connections, a local charity providing support to individuals and families affected by cancer.

The match has been organised by Gary Steadman, who will be selecting two sides made up of familiar faces and friends of Dale. It promises to be an emotional and uplifting afternoon, as Dale’s wife Steph, son Johnny, and his wider circle of friends and family come together to honour his legacy.

This will be the first of what is hoped to become an annual event, paying tribute to Dale each year with the community he loved so dearly.

All entry proceeds from the match will go directly to Cancer Connections, and further donations can be made online via the official JustGiving page.

The day doesn’t end at full-time — after the match, supporters are invited to join us for live entertainment in the Marquee, where the celebration of Dale’s life will continue into the evening.
