2023-24 key cup dates

The start of the Vanarama National League North season is now rapidly approaching, with the Mariners to kick things off against Alfreton Town at 1st Cloud Arena this Saturday.

The 2023-24 campaign will see Shields compete in the sixth tier for the first time since the club was reformed in 1974.

Last season's promotion also means Julio Arca's side will enter the Emirates FA Cup at the second qualifying round stage on the weekend of Saturday, September 16th. Shields made it to the first round of the historic competition last season before being beaten by Forest Green Rovers in front of the BBC cameras.

In the Isuzu FA Trophy, meanwhile, Shields now receive a bye to round two, which is on the weekend of Saturday, November 18th.

The Mariners' Under-18s also compete nationally in the prestigious FA Youth Cup. Their involvement this season will begin at the first qualifying round stage, which is due to be held in the week commencing Monday, September 18th.
