Woods and Morris' challenge to aid club's medical department

South Shields midfielder Michael Woods and head of medical Andrew Morris are getting on their bikes on Tuesday to raise funds for the club's medical department.

The 100km cycling challenge was initiated by Woods as a show of gratitude for the support he received when recovering from a long-term injury at the end of last season.

He is being joined by long-serving Morris, who was with him every step of the way through the recovery process, as he has for countless others during his time with the club.

The challenge is taking place at club sponsor 38 Fitness, in Jarrow, on Tuesday.

Almost £2,000 has already been raised for the cause, which will enable the medical department to invest in new equipment to aid the recovery of players from the men's first-team to the Foundation.
