Will Jenkins signs new deal

We are delighted to announce that Will Jenkins has signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2028.

'I'm really happy it's all sorted, it's a really exciting time to be at the football club, so to be part of it for even longer is really good.'

'The talks started pretty early this season, I knew I was out of contract in the summer, and I want to stay here, so I wanted to get it sorted as quickly as possible.'

Jenkins has become a man that Ian Watson and the management team can trust, having started every game this season, contributed to 23 goals, and has even been named captain on numerous occasions.

'The coaching has been unbelievable, the way they (management) want to play has been helpful, I've thrived under that, it's been really enjoyable.'

Jenkins rose through the South Shields FC Academy, joining when he was fifteen years old. Since then, he has enjoyed loan spells at Dunston UTS, Morpeth Town, where he got his first taste of senior football.

'I came to the Academy when I was 15-16, and since then I've just worked really hard, put the work in to earn that first contract, then I went out on loan a couple of times, which was helpful, hard work, and a lot of dedication.'

Ian Watson is delighted that Will has committed his future to the club, he said

'Will has had an incredible journey so far, and we’re delighted he’s chosen to continue that with us. Will understands where the club is going and what we are trying to build here. He’s all in as a player and a person with South Shields FC, and we’re really excited to build the club with him.'
