Under-18s aim for FA Youth Cup first round in AFC Liverpool tie

South Shields are aiming to qualify for the first round of the FA Youth Cup for the fourth time in five seasons when they travel to AFC Liverpool on Monday.
The third qualifying round tie is being held at the home of Marine AFC, the Marine Travel Arena, after AFC Liverpool saw off Wrexham in the previous round.
Shields have scored 19 goals in their three matches in the competition so far, beating Whitley Bay 8-0, Billingham Town 4-1 and Gateshead 7-1.
They now have the first round proper in their sights again, with Monday’s match to kick-off at 7pm.
The young Mariners reached the first round last year and have also progressed as far as the second round (2018-19) and third round (2019-20) in recent years.
The current crop of youngsters are therefore looking to emulate some of their predecessors at the Marine Travel Arena, which has a post code of L23 3AS. Admission prices are £3 for adults and £1 for Under-18s and concessions.
