SSFC Women host AFC Fylde in Women's FA Cup First Round Proper clash

South Shields Women host AFC Fylde Women this Sunday in the First Round Proper of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup at 1st Cloud Arena (2pm kick-off).

It is shaping up to be the biggest game of the season, with a maiden appearance at the club’s main stadium this campaign, ahead of what will no doubt be an electrifying tie between two sides in good form.

AFC Fylde are unbeaten in 11 games in all competitions, which included a staggering run of 10 consecutive games won, while Shields have won their previous four outings, in either 90 minutes or via penalties, in all competitions.

Shields made history at this stage last season, when they defeated third-tier side Halifax FC Women on penalties, after the thrilling 90 minutes concluded at 3-3.
