South Shields FC 2023-24 home kit unveiled ahead of launch event

Our Home. Our Fortress. South Shields FC are up for the battle in 2023-24 – after launching their new Umbro home strip at a local landmark.

The club’s 2023-24 home shirt will be available for supporters to purchase for the first time at a launch event in the 1st Cloud Arena marquee on Monday.

We can now reveal it in all its glory after players from the Mariners’ men’s and women’s teams donned the jersey at the historic Arbeia, South Shields Roman Fort site.

Fans will be able to get their hands on the new strips ahead of the pre-season friendly against Newton Aycliffe on Tuesday, when the men’s first-team will wear the kit for the first time.

The strip has a classic look to it, with a claret body and sky blue sleeves, along with a sky blue collar.

It is accompanied by the logos of front-of-shirt sponsor Pulman Group and back-of-shirt sponsor Darling’s Pharmacy, along with that of Umbro on what is the first kit released since the iconic sportswear brand became the club’s official technical partner.

The shirt will be available to purchase from the marquee between 12pm and 8pm on Monday, priced at £45 for adults and £38 for children – the same price as the club’s home jersey for 2022-23 – and in sizes from Youth Small to Adult 4XL.

Fans can attend the marquee to view and purchase the shirt, as well as collect season tickets and browse other merchandise, including season ticket wallets and summer attire.

Those who pick up their season ticket will then be able to take advantage of a 10% discount on purchases made in-person, including the home shirt.

The home kit will also be available to order from the club’s online store, store.southshieldsfc.co.uk, from 12pm on Monday.

The pictures accompanying this press release were captured at Arbeia, South Shields Roman Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage site in the heart of South Shields.

The Roman Fort guarded the main sea route to Hadrian’s Wall and is an important part of the history of Roman Britain.

It has now played host to the Mariners as they prepare to go into battle in National League North.

Museum manager Geoff Woodward said: “We love the new Mariners home shirt and we’re delighted that the club chose to reveal the new strip at Arbeia, South Shields Roman Fort.

"I’m sure the troops in the Roman garrison would have approved and we wish the club all the best for the forthcoming new season in the National League North.”
