The Mariners travel to the Deva Stadium this weekend to face Calum McIntyre's Chester FC, the first reverse fixture for South Shields FC, and our final game before Christmas, in which Ian Watson and his squad will be looking to give the fans an early Christmas present.
Chester currently sit in 10th place in the Enterprise National League North, and have won 7 of their opening 20 games of the season, drawing 9 and losing just 4.
Calum McIntyre will be more than impressed with his side, who haven't lost a league fixture since October, when they were beaten 2-1 away to Bedford Town. Since then, they have played 7 games, won 4 and drawn 3, scoring 13 and conceding 6.
Ian Watson's Mariners got themselves back to winning ways thanks to Paul Blackett and Oli Bainbridge, who each scored in the first half to beat Phil Brown's Peterborough Sports.
