Natalia Campbell was pleased to make her long-awaited ‘home’ debut for South Shields Women.
The lasses had to wait just over three months to take to the Harton Welfare turf following a 2-1 defeat to Spennymoor Town Ladies in November, but they made it count this time with a 2-0 win against Harrogate Town AFC Women.
“I think it’s good to get back to winning ways,” Campbell assessed afterwards.
“We definitely deserved the three points.
“The girls played them earlier this season which gave us an idea on how they play and I think we dealt with them well.
“As a team there’s things from Sunday that we can build on and bring to future games.”
While she had played in Shields' DCFA Women's Challenge Cup game at home to Durham Cestria a fortnight ago, and in the NERWFL League Cup at home to Spennymoor Town before Christmas, she hadn't played at the club's main ground until Sunday.
The conditions - owing to heavy rainfall over recent weeks and months - didn’t make things easy, but nevertheless Campbell enjoyed the experience of playing at Harton Welfare at last.
She continued: “First time playing at ‘home’ for Shields, the conditions weren’t the best and made it much harder to play on but it’s always nice to play at home on your home ground.”
Campbell has seamlessly integrated herself within the squad since joining in December, and now she has a companion in Annabelle Forster who she is already familiar with.
“This is my second season playing with Annabelle at Sunderland and now South Shields too,” she explained.
“She is a great talent to add to the team and will fit in nicely without a doubt.”
The pair could link up together this weekend when the Mariners visit Bradford City AFC Women, who have won 13 out of their 14 league games so far.
“Playing top of the league gives us a challenge and a chance to play against good players and show what we are about,” Campbell finished.
“I’m looking forward to the game and I think as a team we need to back each other no matter what.”
Full match details for our visit to Bradford City will be confirmed in due course.

I love the grit these players showed winning on such a messy, rain-soaked pitch! It reminds me of the focus you need for a quick 1v1 lol match—you just have to stay sharp and back your teammates.
Stumbled upon this after it was shared in a Andover gaming forum during a late Thursday scroll. What made me stay was a balanced discussion about frostybet.org.uk paired with honest observations on form submit prevention and validation interrupt logic for UK players. No flashy claims about submit handling perfection or interrupt strategy mastery. The straightforward tone was a breath of fresh air. When I finished, I felt at ease, like I'd found actual community feedback.
